Yen wins silver at Chinese Chess Championships

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam's Nguyen Hoang Yen won a silver medal at the Asian Xiangqi (Chinese Chess) Championships that ended in Singapore on November 20.

Yen lost to Chinese master Tang Dan in the final of the women's individual category.

In the Singapore Open event, which was held at the same time, Diep Khai Nguyen of Vietnam came third in the men's individual class.

Masters from China dominated both competitions.

China have set up their domination in the Asian champ🐲ionships since its inauguration in 1980, except in 2011 when Vietnamese Nguyen Hoang Lam and Ngo Huong Lan triumphed in the men's and women's individual disciplines, respectively.-VNA
