The Ministry of Culture,Sports and Tourism is mulling over the plan and working to choose suitablegroup of tourists and step up vaccinations in Phu Quoc before the launch of thepilot programme scheduled for October. AQR code will be generated to each holidaymaker. The VNAT over the time has strived to update, improve andcomplete functions of the app so as to serve international tourists, including displayin English language and the integration of COVID-19 vaccine verification systemin line with European standards./.

The Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang is preparing for a pilot plan on welcoming international tourists with vaccine passports to its Phu Quoc resort island for six months from October in a bid to revive its tourism industry.

After two years of “freezing”, the Phu Quoc island city in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang is expected to be first destination in the country to receive foreign tourists after the Government approved the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’ proposal on a pilot plan to welcome tourists back under the vaccine passport programme.
The first and only direct service connecting the two countries at the moment is set to operate three times per week using the modern wide-body Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
