Women’s football team arrives in India for Asian Cup finals
Ten members of the national women’s football team, including head coach Mai Duc Chung, arrived in India’s Pune city on January 16 for the 2022 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Asian Cup.

Hanoi (VNA) - Ten members of the national women’s football team, including head coach Mai Duc Chung, arrived in India’s Pune city on January 16 for the 2022 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Asian Cup.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from January 20 to February 6.
A representative of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Mumbai travelled to the airport to assist the team with necessary procedures.
Other members are waiting for their COVID-19 test result in Spain, where the team headed for a short training camp last December, hoping to get a timely flight to India on January 19. They are in stable health.
Earlier, 15 members of the squad tested positive for the virus.

Vietnam are set to play the Republic of Korea on January 21.
Currently placed 32nd on the FIFA ranking table, Vietnam are in Group C together with reigning champions Japan, the RoK and Myanmar.
The upcoming tourney will serve as the continental qualification for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand./.

Twenty-eight players will be called to prepare for the final round of the 2022 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Asian Cup in India, according to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
Coach Mai Duc Chung and his squad of 23 players left for a short training camp in Spain on December 26, as they put together their final touches ahead of the 2022 Asian Women's Cup.
The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.
The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
Vietnam continues to sit just behind continental powerhouses Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
