Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh urged authorities at all levels to organise effective activities, especially publicity work, to reduce tobacco harm to society. According to the Health Ministry, tobacco causes about 6 million deaths across the world per year. In Vietnam, it kills more than traffic accidents. Vietnam is one of the four countries with the highest number of smokers at 15 million, costing 14 trillion VND (625 million USD) per year.-VNA
