The photo titled “Sac mau que huong” (Colour of Homeland) by Vu NgocHoang won the first prize at the award ceremony of the photo contest“Tan huong ban sac Viet” (Savour Vietnam) on June 19 in Ho Chi MinhCity.
Jointly organised by Tuoi Tre (Youth)newspaper and Saigontourist, a travel firm, “Savour Vietnam” aims tohonour the beauty of Vietnam’s landscape and culture as well as itshistory and people.
The competition, which opened inJuly last year, receives more than 7,100 photos from both local andoverseas photographers, depicting the nature and landscapes, folkfestivals and rituals, handicraft villages, and people from across thecountry.
During the ceremony, the organisers alsopresented two second prizes and three third prizes to authors of themost outstanding submissions.
The organizerspublished a book namely “Tan huong ban sac Viet” in Vietnamese andEnglish languages, putting together most outstanding photos from thecontest.
According to CEO of Saigontourist Tran HungViet, the book will serve as one of the firm’s main give-awaypublications to its international partners and clients.
Outstanding photos are exhibited at a number of luxurious hotels in HoChi Minh City, including Rex, Majestic, Caravelle, Continental, PullmanSaigon Centre and Novotel Sai Gon Centre through August 3.-VNA
