Hanoi (VNA) – US President Donald Trump will join a 45-minute one-on-one meeting with DemocraticPeople’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) leader Kim Jong-un at 9am (local time) inHanoi on February 28, according to the US’s White House.

After thismeeting, the leaders will attend an expanded meeting with members of the twodelegations.

They willhave lunch together at 11:55pm, before holding a joint statement signingceremony which is scheduled to take place at 2:05pm.

A newsconference on the summit’s results will be held on 3:30pm the same day.

After theirmeeting and dinner on February 27 evening at SofitelLegend Metropole Hanoi Hotel, both the US President and the DRPK leader voiced their optimism aboutrealising targets towards peace and complete denuclearisation in the KoreanPeninsula.

USPresident Trump tweeted that he had“great meetings” and “very good dialogue” with leader Kim.

On February25, the Presidential Residence (Blue House) of the Republic of Korea said thetwo leaders could reach a deal on declaring an end to the Korean War at theirsecond summit in Hanoi. Its spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom said he thought even justan end-of-war declaration by the DPRK and the US alone would be enough.-VNA
