What to expect from ‘1 million hectares of high quality rice’ project
Vietnam's national project to develop one million hectares of specialized farming areas is the world's first initiative to integrate rice production with environmental protection and climate change adaptation.
Tu Ky district in the northern province of Hai Duong recently held a festival to introduce and honor the value of local organic rice being grown in sand worm fields. This is another effort to enhance the value of these products, expand their market, and promote the potential for eco-tourism development in the province.
A ceremony was held in My Dong commune in Thap Muoi district of Dong Thap province on June 12 to kick start a project to develop 1 million hectares of high-quality low-emission rice associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta Region.
