Thailand’s Cabinet has approved a special budget of 104.87 million THB (more than 2.9 million USD) for holding the “Maha Songkran World Water Festival” in Bangkok and some key provinces in mid-April.

Cambodia’s water festival, which was canceled during the COVID-19 pandemic, opened on November 26 afternoon under the auspices of King Norodom Sihamoni.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen has said that nearly 20,000 security personnel will be deployed in Phnom Penh to maintain order during the Water Festival, which will take place from November 10-12.

Cambodia is ready to deploy more than 10,000 security personnel in the capital during the Water Festival, which will take place on November 13-15, said the Municipal Governor of Phnom Penh.
