Hanoi (VNA) – Voters have expressed their satisfaction with frank answers fromministers during the National Assembly’s question and answer session in Hanoi onJune 14.  

Ministerof Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien and Health Minister Nguyen ThiKim Tien discussed issues under their charge at the session, which wasbroadcast live on Vietnam Television and Radio the Voice of Vietnam.

TranVan Thuc, Rector of Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said MinisterThien candidly pointed out the weaknesses in the workforce while answering aquestion on human resources development for the tourism sector raised by deputyNguyen Lam Thanh from Lang Son province.

Hesaid there is a lack of universities specialising in tourism, with only tourismdepartments at universities.

LeBa, a voter from An Hai Tay ward, Son Tra district, the central city of Da Nang,appreciated the hearing session as queries focused on important issues like themanagement and licensing of art and cultural activities and prevention of moraldegradation in this field.

MinisterThien claimed responsibility for the problems in the sector, he said.

TrinhHuu Hung, Director of the Health Department of Thanh Hoa province, laudedMinister Tien’s handling of questions, adding that the official frankly discussedachievements and shortcomings in healthcare.

NguyenDuc Thuan, Director of the General Hospital of the Central Highlands provinceof Lam Dong, suggested the Health Ministry devise measures to attract medicalgraduates to localities and offer more incentives to outstanding graduates toimprove the quality of human resources.

HoangDinh Tien from Tra Ba ward, Pleiku city, the Central Highlands province of GiaLai, hoped that the ministry will map out better measures to create favourableconditions for doctors to work for a long time at grassroots-levelestablishments.-VNA
