Vietnam offers good opportunities for businesses from Ehime prefectureof Japan in the manufacturing of hi-tech and agricultural machinery,textiles and garment and personnel training, according to VietnameseAmbassador to Japan Doan Xuan Hung.
Speaking in frontof more than 200 representatives from research institutes andbusinesses at a recent seminar in Ehime, the ambassador said both sideswill benefit from the cooperation.
Vietnamese counsellorin charge of investment promotion Le Huu Quang Huy spoke of thefavourable conditions for Japanese investors, including Vietnam’slocation in the centre of Southeast Asia , an open investmentenvironment and preferential policies, and the fine development ofVietnam-Japan relations.
The director of IchihiroCompany, which runs a factory in Vietnam’s Tay Ninh province, sharedhis experience in seeking location, partners, worker recruitment andtraining.
Meanwhile, the director of Tact Noda companywhich receives Vietnamese trainees, said the number of trainees fromVietnam employed by small and medium-sized businesses in Ehimeincreased last year despite the general downward trend in the amount offoreign trainees.
At present, 108 Vietnamese traineesare working in Ehime prefecture, he said, noting that there remaindifficulties in employing Vietnamese trainees because of highrecruitment cost, language barrier and trainees’ poor understanding ofindustrial working culture.
Representatives from Ehimemonetary and financial organizations and universities put forthsolutions to assist the prefecture’s businesses in investing in Vietnamand training personnel.
The head of the prefecture willlead a business delegation to Vietnam to explore the country’sinvestment environment and seek Vietnamese partners.-VNA
