The northwestern province of Hoa Binh and Laos’ Huaphan province have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in cultural exchange, Vietnamese and Lao language training, trade, investment and import-export.

The MoU was inked onMarch 28 as a result of a working session between Secretary of the HoaBinh Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s CommitteeBui Van Tinh and his visiting Huaphan counterpart Khamhung Huongvongsi.
At the meeting, the two sides briefed each other ontheir respective socio-economic development, defence-security, and Partyand political system building.
They noted that the twoprovinces’ close relationship has contributed to tightening thetraditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperationbetween Vietnam and Laos .
They also expressed their belief that the bilateral ties will further develop in the future.-VNA

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
