Vinh Long (VNA) – Officials in👍 the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long conveyed congratulations to local Catholics and Protestants on March 22 on the upcoming Easter.

Meeting with representatives of the bishop’s palace of the Diocese of Vinh Long and the Evangelical Church of Vietnam (South), Vice Standing Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Truong Van Sau offered the best wishes to bishops, priests, pastors, and Catholic and Protestant followers. He took this chance to inform them about local socio-economic accomplishments last year, and appreciate contributions by Catholics and Protestants to local development, security, political stability, social order and safety.
He asked the bishop’s palace and the Vinh Long representative board of the Evangelical Church to continue encouraging their followers to abide by the Party’s and State’s guidelines, policies and laws, consolidate the national great unity bloc, and lead good lives. The official also expressed his hope for their active participation in the May election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for the 2016 – 2021 term.
Nguyen Van Soi, a representative of the bishop’s palace and the Church’s Vinh Long board, thanked local authorities for sharing the Easter Day joy with Catholics and Protestants. He promised to join the followers’ efforts in fostering the province’s development and engaging in the approaching election.-VNA
