Vietnam’s U16s to attend regional championships

The national U16 football team will compete at the Southeast Asian Championship in Cambodia next month, according to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

Hanoi (VNA)♏ - The national U16 football team will compete at the Southeast Asian Championship in Cambodia next month, according to the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

The VFF announced that the players will be brought together from June 19 to July 6 for training under Coach Dinh The Nam. Vietnam will play with Myanmar, Australia, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore in Group A.

Group B consists of Thailand, Laos, Timor Leste, Brunei and the host Cambodia.

The teams will compete in a round robin format in the group stage, with the two best ones advancing to the semi-finals.

As scheduled, Vietnam will face Malaysia on July 10, Australia on July 12, Myanmar on July 14, the Philippines on July 16 and Singapore on July 18.

𓂃 The 2016 U-16 Southeast Asian Championship is considered an important competition for the national team to prepare for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U16 Football Championship.-VNA
