Vietnam’s National Day marked in China

– The Vietnamese Embassy inChina held a ceremony to mark the 74th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day inBeijing on September 11 with the participation of Chinese officials andrepresentatives of foreign diplomatic corps and the Vietnamese expatriatecommunity.

In his speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Dang Minh Khoirecalled the historic moment of the nation 74 years ago when President Ho ChiMinh read the Declaration of Independence, founding the Democratic Republic ofVietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam).

Since then, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, tirelessefforts of Vietnamese people and valuable support from international friends, Vietnamhas gained many important achievements in the struggle for national liberationand reunification and in the cause of national development, he said.

He took the occasion to express his delight at the growth of Vietnam-Chinacollaboration across economy-trade, investment, culture, tourism, andpeople-to-people exchange.

According to the diplomat, Vietnam has been the thirdbiggest trade partner of China in ASEAN for three consecutive years. The twocountries have maintained meetings and visits between their high-level leaders.

The two sides have agreed to maintain peace, stability, and manageand handle satisfactorily disagreement at sea. They are working to organise activitiesfor the celebration of the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in2020.

At the ceremony, international visitors were treated toVietnamese culture and traditional cuisine./.
