Vietnam’s National Day celebrated in France, Italy

Hanoi (VNA) –꧒ Ceremonies marking Vietnam’s 72nd National Day (September2) were held in France and Italy on September 27.

Addressingthe event in France, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Ngoc Son said that Vietnamhas been developing rapidly and become a responsible member of theinternational community. Thediplomat also expressed his hope that Vietnam–France relations will see strong developmentsteps in 2018 as the two countries celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomaticties and the fifth anniversary of their strategic partnership. Atthe ceremony, participants enjoyed a fashion show featuring Vietnamese ao dai (traditionallong dress) with traditional music at the Petit Palais Art Museum in France’scapital of Paris. Aproject titled “Vietnam house” of Vietnam’s Tourism Ambassador to France AnoaSuzanne Dussol Perran was also introduced at the event. It is being built inHauts-de-Seine province of France, to be used as a place to showcase Vietnameseculture, such as ao dai and paintings, and gastronomy. Meanwhile,the ceremony in Rome, Italy, was attended by representatives from Italianministries and overseas Vietnamese in the country. VietnameseAmbassador to Italy Cao Chinh Thien lauded Vietnam–Italy relations, which havebecome more practical with many important projects and regional cooperationmodels. Theambassador stressed that the State visit to Italy in 2016 by Vietnamese PresidentTran Dai Quang and achievements made this year will be an important foundationfor the two nations celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties in 2018. Forhis part, Senator Pier Ferdinando Casini, Chairman of the Italian SenateForeign Affairs Committee, highlighted the bilateral relationship as a model oftraditional friendship, in line with the needs and benefits of the people ofboth countries.-VNA
