Vietnam’s ministry confirms citizen death in Philippines’s Abu Sayyaf attacks

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang on July 12 confirmed a Vietnamese citizen, named Tran Viet Van, was killed in the Philippines military’s attacks on the terrorist group Abu Sayyaf.

Hanoi (VNA) – Spokesperson for theMinistry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang on July 12 confirmed a Vietnamesecitizen, named Tran Viet Van, was killed in the Philippines military’s attackson the terrorist group Abu Sayyaf.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the familyof Tran Viet Van,” Hang said, expressing her hope that the bereaved will soonovercome this huge loss to stabilise life.

The Embassy of Vietnam in the Philippines iscoordinating with relevant agencies at home and in the host country to completeforensic and legal procedures and support the victim’s family with funeralservice, she added.
