Vietnam’s Liem reaches top 10 in Dubai Open chess tournament

Hanoi (VNA) 🦂– Grandmaster Le Quang Liem entered the top 10 after thefourth round of the Dubai Open chess tournament on April 5.

Liem defeated GMVishnu Prasanna of India, taking his third win at the event. Liem has 3.5 pointsand stands ninth. He will face Nodirbek Abdusattorov of Uzbekistan in the nextround. Another VietnameseNguyen Anh Khoi also won, beating Seyed Kian Poormosavi of Iran. He has threepoints and ranks No 35. His next rival will be GM Aravindh Chithambaram ofIndia. The event ends on April9.-VNA

𓃲 Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
