Mexico (VNA) - Vietnam’shandicrafts such as Non la (conical hats), ao dai (traditional long dress), filmsand posters displayed at a festival in Mexico City have helped Mexican peopleget an insight into Vietnam’s culture and history.

The festival, which highlighted culture identities of oriental nations, washeld on February 23 and 24 in the Mexican capital. It attracted theparticipation of many other Asian countries, including Japan, the Republic ofKorea, India, China, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia.

Vietnam’s booth attracted thousands of visitors. Video clips about Vietnam and attractivetourism destinations screened at the event helped international visitors understandmore about the country, and they were interested in tours to Vietnam todiscover the friendly and hospitable nation.

The organizers said the event contributed to promote the oriental culture to internationalfriends, thus further tightening friendship and mutual understanding among countries’people.

The festival lured nearly 7,000 visitors.-VNA
