HCM City (VNA) – The robust economic development and improved livingstandards have turned Vietnam into one of the most promising markets for foodand beverage consumption in the region.

The information was heard at a ceremonyheld in Ho Chi Minh City on March 22 to introduce the food and beverageingredients exhibition in Vietnam (Fi Vietnam 2018).

Vietnam’s large population of around 93 million, half of which are under 30, isa key reason behind the strong surge in the food and beverage consumption.Furthermore, Vietnam is a tropical agricultural country with a diverse sourceof raw materials, many of which are important to the food and beverageindustry.

UBM Asia (Thailand)’s Business Director Rungphech (Rose) Chitanuwat said thatFi Vietnam 2018, which will be jointly held by UBM Asia (Thailand) and the Foodand Foodstuff Association of Ho Chi Minh City, will serve as a gateway for foodand beverage companies looking to promote trade and invest in the Vietnamesemarket.

The exhibition will be held at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre(SECC) from May 16-18 and is expected to draw 140 exhibitors and over 4,700 expertsfrom ASEAN countries.

On display will be baby food and infant formula, bakery products, beverages,confectionary and snack food, convenience food and ready meals, dairy food andice cream, emulsifiers and fruit and vegetable products, among others.

Forums, international conferences and seminars held in the framework of theevent will help regional enterprises deepen and get updated with the latestfood and beverage knowledge.-VNA
