Vietnamese women in Hungary help promote national culture in host country
The Vietnam Women’s Union in Hungary is organising a wide range of activities to mark its 20th founding anniversary, with a grand ceremony expected to take place in Budapest on June 9.

Prague (VNA) – The Vietnam Women’s Union in Hungary is organisinga wide range of activities to mark its 20th founding anniversary,with a grand ceremony expected to take place in Budapest on June 9.
Attending a get-together held by the unionon April 8, Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Nguyen Thi Bich Thao spoke highlyof its contributions to activities of the Vietnamese community and Vietnameserepresentative offices there.
Women have also contributed to promotingVietnam’s culture to people in the host country, Thao added.
The union is holding a painting contest forHungarian children, with the sponsor of the Vietnamese Embassy. The contest isattracting the participation of students from over 50 schools across Hungary.The outstanding works will be honoured at a ceremony on May 25./.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with staff members of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives from the Vietnamese community in Hungary in Budapest on January 19, as part of his official visit to the European country.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Nguyen Thi Bich Thao has received Director of Eurasia Centre under Hungary’s John von Neumann University, Dr. Levente Horvath, who expressed his hope that the Eurasia Magazine run by the centre can report more information on Vietnam’s reform and development achievements.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach. He noted that the early completion reflects the strong commitment of local authorities, the business community, philanthropists, and residents in improving housing conditions for disadvantaged groups.
