Hanoi (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera andthe US’s CREDO choir will stage “Verleih uns Frieden” and “Let there be peaceon earth” under the special music programme “summer melody” scheduled for June14 at Ben Thanh Theatre in Ho Chi Minh City.
This is part of the Asia tour in 2018 by the US 115-member community choir,founded and led by Jonathan Palant, Director of Choral Activities at theUniversity of Texas.
Under the music programme, Vietnamese artists will perform “Come to the music”by Joseph M.Martin and “Con Lon ruc ro” (effulgent Con Lon) by Tran Manh Hung.The choir will be led by renowned conductor Tran Nhat Minh.
Meanwhile, CREDO will stage some popular works such as “Wanting Memories”, “UbiCaritas”, “I Will Be a Child of Peace”, and “I’ll Be On My Way”.
The music programme is expected to open new cooperation opportunities betweenthe two sides in the future.-VNA

More than 1,000 artists from 10 countries and territories across the world have participated in the 5th Vietnam International Choir Competition, which opened on June 7 in Hoi An city in the central province of Quang Nam.
The world famous Ural State Folk Choir from Russia will perform at the Vietnam National Academy of Music on June 12 as part of activities to celebrate Russia’s National Day.
The Miracle Choir and Orchestra is Vietnam’s only representative in the Human Kind international charity single, released and distributed worldwide by Universal Music Operations.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.
Eight teams will join the tournament, divided into two groups. Group A features Vietnam, the Philippines, Sichuan Club (China), and Australia, while Group B consists of Vietnam U21, Korabelka Club (Russia), Taiwan (China), and U21 Thailand.
