Vietnamese high school students will be introduced to Maori art and culture during the New Zealand Education and Culture Roadshow, which runs until September 25.
A Maori troupe from the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute will visit schools in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, together with representatives from the New Zealand Embassy, education and tourism ministries, to showcase opportunities to travel to and study in the country.
The event will involve performances by the Maori troupe as well as ice-cream and kiwi fruit tasting sessions.
"Maori culture is a fascinating and unique part of New Zealand's culture," New Zealand Ambassador Haike Manning said. "It's something that sets us apart from others. The visit by this performance group is a great opportunity to showcase Maori culture to Vietnamese students to raise their awareness and interest in our country."
It's a part of the New Zealand – Open to the New season organised by the New Zealand Embassy to celebrate 40 years of friendship and diplomatic relations between New Zealand and Vietnam.-VNA
The Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) and the New Zealand’s Auckland University of Technology (AUT) signed a memorandum of understanding on August 6.

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
