Speaking at the openingceremony, Park Kyun-ik, President of the RoK’s ICFood company (thecompetition’s sponsor), said he hopes that Vietnamese students in theRoK will play a core role in maintaining and developing the RoK-Vietnamfriendship in the future.
The company also pledged to workside-by-side with the Vietnamese Students’ Association in the RoK inactivities to improve students’ health as well as other programmes.
Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Tran Trong Toan expressed his thanksto ICFood for its support for the Vietnamese Students’ Association andpresented an insignia to Park Kyun-ik in recognition of hiscontributions to the association.
This year’s event attractedeight male and five female teams. Sungkyunkwan University’s female teamwon the gold medal, while Chungnam University dominated the malecategory.-VNA
This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
