Vietnamese students hold charitable event in Singapore

Singapore (VNA) – The Vietnam Students in Singapore Association organised abeauty contest on December 10 to select a representative for its charity workin the host nation.

Luu PhuongLinh from the East Asia Institute of Management rose above nine other candidatesto win the first prize after competing in three categories of ao dai(Vietnamese traditional dress), talent and improvisation.

Allproceeds from ticket sales and the cash prize of 1,000 SGD were donated to Singapore’sRare Disorders Society (RDSS) – a non-profit organisation initiated by parentsof children with LSD (Lysosomal Storage Disorder), aiming to create awarenessabout various life threatening rare diseases (RD).

There arecurrently 10,000 Vietnamese students studying in Singapore. They havecontributed significantly to strengthening the strategic partnership betweenthe two nations.-VNA
