Vietnamese Party delegation visits Australia to strengthen bilateral relations

Sydney (VNA) – A delegation of theCommunist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by Politburo member Nguyen Xuan Thang, who is also President of the HoChi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) and Chairman of the Central TheoryCouncil, visited Australia from December 4-5.
During their stay in Canberra and Sydney, Thang andhis entourage met with President of the Senate Sue Lines, Minister for Foreign Affairs Penny Wong, Assistant Minister for Manufacturing and Assistant Minister forTrade Tim Ayres, and Governor of New South Wales Margaret Beazley, among otherofficials.
At these meetings, Thang expressed his rejoice at the positive, strong,comprehensive development of the Vietnam-Australia strategic partnership overthe past years, elaborating that the mutual political trust has beenconsolidated, economic and trade relations have made positive strides, andcollaboration in education-training, science-technology, and national defenceand security has been expanded.
The Vietnamese Party and State treasure and wish to advancethe bilateral strategic partnership in the time ahead, making the two countriesleading economic partners of each other, and deepen cooperation in the areaswhere both have potential and strengths like energy transition, digitaltransformation, climate change response, knowledge connectivity, and innovation,the official affirmed.

The Australian officials highlighted the significance ofthe visit as the two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary oftheir diplomatic ties, saying Australia attaches importance to itscomprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, including the close collaborationbetween the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and theAustralian Human Rights Commission, and the HCMA in personnel training, ensuringhuman rights and gender equality, and implementing joint development projects.
The two sides shared the view that relevant agenciesof the two countries should continue to exchange views to concretise cooperationcontents in the new situation, thus promoting the bilateral ties, for the sakeof their people, and businesses and localities./.
An international forum on vocational education and training (VET) themed “Upskilling the Logistics Workforce and Promoting Industry Linkages in the Digital Era” took place in Hanoi on October 24 as part of activities in the Vietnam - Australia Human Resource Development Programme (Aus4Skills).

Highlighting the transformative potential of the draft law in revitalising Vietnam’s railway industry, Hoang Van Cuong, a deputy of Hanoi, expressed his support for Article 39, which empowers the Prime Minister to issue a list of railway-related goods and services to be assigned or ordered from domestic enterprises for production.
