Vietnamese party delegation visit Brazil

Hanoi(VNA) – A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by Hoang BinhQuan, member of the CPV Central Committee and Chairman of the CPV CentralCommittee’s Commission for External Relations, visited Brazil from September15-16.

During their stay inBrazil, the Vietnamese delegation held talks with a high-level delegation ofthe Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB); held working sessions with ActingBrazilian Foreign Minister Marcos Garvao; Secretary of the PCdoB Organisation ofRio de Janeiro Joao Batista Lemos; and Paulo Paim, member of the Workers’ Party(PT) Central Committee and member of the Board of the Federal Senate. Quan alsoattended and delivered a speech at a live broadcast session of the BrazilianSenate.

At these meetings, Quancongratulated the BT on the success of its sixth National Congress and conveyedNational Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan’s invitation to the BrazilianSenate President to visit Vietnam in 2018.

He also briefed thehosts on the Vietnamese situation and discussed measures to further promotecooperative relations between the two countries through the Party, parliamentand Government channels in the time ahead.

The leaders of theBrazilian Foreign Ministry, Senate, PCdoB and PT spoke highly of the VietnameseParty delegation’s visit to Brazil, hailing it as a motivation to boost thepartnership between the CPV and Brazil’s political parties, between the twoparliaments as well as between Vietnam and Brazil, as the two countries arecelebrating 10 years of the signing of the Comprehensive Partnership Agreement.

The leaders of PCdoBand BT briefed the Vietnamese guests on the situation of Brazil, the Brazilian partiesand the region, and highly evaluated the socio-economic achievements Vietnamhas attained after over 30 years of Doi Moi (reform).

They voiced their wishto boost ties with the CPV in the coming time by exchanging delegations,sharing information and experience and training officials, and invited the CPVto send a delegation to attend the 14th National Congress of PCdoB slated forNovember.

Expressing his delightat the fine development of Vietnam-Brazil relations over the past years, Garvaoand Quan discussed specific measures to further bolster bilateral relations.

The Brazilian officialalso agreed on Vietnam’s recommendations to enhance political ties between thetwo countries via cooperation mechanisms, especially the Joint Committee andthe exchange of high-level delegations.

Both sides agreed tocontinue coordinating and supporting each other at multilateral forums,accelerating bilateral economic-trade-investment relations, especially in thekey fields which are complimentary to each other, such as wind energy,agriculture, fishery, aviation, tourism, sports and culture, and striving tolift the two-way trade value to 10 billion USD in 2020.-VNA
