Vietnamese paintings exhibited in Netherlands

Paintings portraying the landscapes of two cities, Hanoi and Kampen, by Ha Hoang Tung are being shown in an ongoing exhibition entitled Hanoi – Hoang Ha Tung – Kampen in Kampen, Netherlands.

Paintings portraying the landscapes of twocities, Hanoi and Kampen, by Hoang Ha Tung are being shown in an ongoingexhibition entitled Hanoi – Hoang Ha Tung – Kampen in Kampen,Netherlands.

The exhibition follows the success of the artist’s first show in theNetherlands, a 2017 exhibition featuring portraits of Vietnamese and Dutchfarmers.

The works displayed this time were painted directly on the spot. They combinesimple strokes with sophisticated colours to demonstrate the painter’saffection for the two cities that inspired him – Hanoi and Kampen.

In addition to landscapepaintings, Tùng is also showing Toi (Nhung mien rieng biet) (Me– Separate Regions), telling fairy tales and legends and showcasing imaginaryimages painted on do (poonah) papers from his hometown.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands Ngo Thi Hoa and the mayor of KampenBort Koelewijn attended the opening of Hanoi – Hoang Ha Tung – Kampen.The mayor welcomed the painter’s return to Kampen, adding that he was moved byTung’s affection for the city, evident in his emotion-filled landscapepaintings.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Hoa praised the artistic creativity and energyof the painter as well as the positive co-operation between artists of the twonations, highlighting the Stichting Work#art organisation that helped theVietnamese painter bring images of Hanoi closer to Dutch arts lovers.

Hanoi – Hoang Ha Tung – Kampen is being held in Het Werk art centreand Gallery Huize Maria, the headquarters of Work#art.

The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
