Vietnamese opera performed at int’l music festival in Czech Republic
An opera in Vietnamese composed by Czech-Vietnamese playwright Hoang Thi Kieu Anh was performed at the ongoing Festival Forfest 2017 in the Czech Republic.

Prague (VNA)꧒ – An opera in Vietnamese composed by Czech-Vietnamese playwrightHoang Thi Kieu Anh was performed at the ongoing Festival Forfest 2017 in theCzech Republic.
Thisis the first time an opera in Vietnamese has been staged at the event. HoangThi Kieu Anh played the piano herself to accompany Czech-Japanese soloist NaoHigano. ZdenkaVaculovicova, President of the festival expressed her hope that more operas inVietnamese will be introduced in the Czech Republic. HoangThi Kieu Anh was born into a musical family in the north central province ofThanh Hoa. She studied at the Slovakia Academy of Music after graduating fromthe Vietnam National Academy of Music and has continued her music career there. Shehas composed about 100 works so far, many of which are popular in Slovakia. TheFestival Forfest is an international contemporary music festival, which is heldin four cities, including Kromeriz and Olomous of the Czech Republic,Bratislava of Slovakia and San Marino of the San Marino Republic.
Itruns until September 3 with artists from the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia,the US and Japan.-VNA
