Vietnamese localities’ ties with US-based partners to be further enhanced
The Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations and other agencies in New York will continue assisting Vietnamese localities to enhance relations with US-based partners, a diplomat has said.

New York (VNA) – The Permanent Mission of Vietnam tothe United Nations and other agencies in New York will continue assistingVietnamese localities to enhance relations with US-based partners, a diplomathas said.
As part of a programme on promoting Vietnamese localities inthe US, Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to the UN had a meeting with a delegationof the Party Committees of six provinces, namely Gia Lai, Ha Nam, Ha Tinh, HoaBinh, Thua Thien - Hue, and Yen Bai, on April 22.
Leading the delegation, Hoang Trung Dung, member of the PartyCentral Committee, Secretary of the Ha Tinh Party Committee and Chairman of theprovincial People’s Council, congratulated the Permanent Mission on itsachievements in implementing tasks on external affairs, which have helped protectVietnam’s interests and promote the country’s stature and role in the world.
He emphasised the necessity of international cooperation andattraction of external financial and technological resources for socio-economicdevelopment in domestic localities.
The official called on the mission and other representative bodiesof Vietnam in New York to continue helping the six provinces connect withreputable and suitable partners to step up trade and attract more investment tothe fields matching the provinces’ interest and the US’s strength.
MinisterCounsellor Nguyen Hoang Nguyen, Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Permanent Missionto the UN, stressed that aside from the focus on multilateral diplomacy at theUN, the mission and other representative bodies also attach great importance tothe coordination with and support for domestic localities as seen in variousactivities held in the four pillars of political diplomacy, economic diplomacy,cultural diplomacy, and consular affairs - citizen protection.
In the time ahead, the mission and other representativebodies in New York will continue supporting the six provinces tostrengthen ties with partners in the US on the basis of their demand, he added.
Also on April 22, the provinces’ delegation visited and hadworking sessions at the UN headquarters and the New York Stock Exchange./.

Describing the exhibition as a large-scaled, content-rich, and unprecedented event with high requirements and limited preparation time, PM Pham Minh Chinh urged all ministries, sectors, and localities to participate with the highest sense of responsibility, ensuring the exhibition is inclusive, objective, truthful, feasible, and impactful.
Vietnam’s attendance reaffirms its consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralisation and diversification, and comprehensive, intensive, extensive and effective international integration.
Cheng stressed that this is third time PM Chinh has attended the meeting and he is among the few senior government officials participating in this year's event, which is considered as a rare and commendable gesture.
The fact that the Vietnamese PM has been invited to attend and speak at this important event for three consecutive years reflects the WEF as well as the international business community's recognition and high regard for Vietnam's position, role, and contributions to global and regional economic growth.
This new era marks a crucial phase in which the country must strive with determination to fulfil its strategic objectives, achieving breakthrough development at new levels of sophistication, quality, and global standing, laying the foundation for further growth. Era after era forms a continuous history of development, ascending steadily from one level to the next.
The resolution on such mechanisms aims to serve as a legal basis for opportunely dealing with difficulties and hindrances caused by legal regulations in important, priority, and urgent areas that require immediate settlement so as to unlock resources, facilitate economic development, and turn legislation into a competitive edge.
PM Pham Minh Chinh instructed chairpersons of the People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to strictly follow the Ministry of Finance's guidelines on handling public finances and budgets, with a focus on preventing wastefulness, misconduct, or corruption.
Knapper reaffirmed the US's commitment to supporting a strong, independent, prosperous and resilient Vietnam, while respecting each other’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, independence and political systems.
Vietnam is deeply concerned about the escalating and complex conflict in the Middle East, which poses a serious threat to the lives and safety of civilians, as well as to regional and global peace and stability.
