Vietnamese, Lao provinces share labour-related experience

Thanh Hoa (VNA) – Leadersof the Confederation of Labour of central Thanh Hoa province and the Federationof Trade Unions in the Lao province of Houaphanh exchanged experience duringtheir talks in Thanh Hoa on June 6.
The two sides informed each other about thesituation of workers and trade union activities in their respective provinces,highlighting the achievements the trade unions in Thanh Hoa and Houaphanh have obtainedrecently.
They also shared expertise in organising anddirecting trade union activities while reviewing the implementation of amemorandum of understanding signed in Houaphanh on May 26, 2016.
At the talks, the two organisations reachedconsensus on bilateral cooperation from now to 2020. Accordingly, they willcontinue the traditional solidarity and cooperation and sharing experience intrade union activities.
Aside from making annual mutual visits toexchange experience, they will educate local trade union members and workersabout the other country’s labour-related regulations as well as the friendshipbetween the two countries and between Thanh Hoa and Houaphanh.
The two sides will also encourage Thanh Hoa andHouaphanh businesses to make investment in line with the comprehensivecooperation programme for 2017-2020.-VNA
Competent agencies of Vietnam and Laos have coordinated with each other to ensure the movement of people and goods at the Bo Y-Phu Cua international border gate under the Hanoi Agreement reached by the two countries in 2007.
A protocol adjusting the goods transit agreement between Vietnam and Laos has been signed, creating favourable conditions for transit of goods between the two countries.
A ground-breaking ceremony for a building of the Lao parliament, a gift from Vietnam to Laos, will be held on July 18, 2017, which is also the day the two countries signed the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation in 1977.
