Hanoi (VNA) - President of the Vietnam FatherlandFront (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man received President of the LaoFront for National Construction Central Committee Xaysomphone Phomvihane inHanoi on April 13.

Mentioning Vietnam – Laos solidarity cultivated by bothsides’ leaders, Man affirmed the Vietnamese Government, Party, NationalAssembly, Front and people always give priority to cementing the traditionalfriendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Laos.

The front leader suggested both sides work together to buildplans to realise their memorandum of understanding on cooperation and the jointcommuniqué on outcomes of an international conference on building a Vietnam –Laos borderline of peace, friendship and comprehensive cooperation for 2017 –2020.

He asked the Lao Front for National Construction to push forfacilitating the searching and repatriation of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiersand experts who laid down their lives in Laos during wartime and to propose theLao Party and Government create favourable conditions for Vietnameseexpatriates in the country.

Expressing his delight at fruitful growth of the Vietnam –Laos relations, Xaysomphone Phomvihane stressed activities marking the twocountries’ 55 years of diplomatic ties and 40 years of signing of their Treatyon Amity and Cooperation in 2017 contributed to educating their people,particularly youths, on the special relationship.

He said the two fronts’ cooperation has achieved effectiveoutcomes via joint programmes, and delegation and experience exchanges.

The Lao official highlighted his belief that the visit toVietnam will help his front understand more about the VFF’s ideology andhistory, thus contributing to further enhancing the Vietnam – Laos traditionalfriendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.-VNA
