Vietnamese language course opens in the Netherlands

Hanoi(VNA) - The Embassy of Vietnam in the Netherlands has organised a course to teachVietnamese language to overseas Vietnamese in the Netherlands.

Speaking at theopening ceremony on October 15, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands Ngo Thi Hoasaid thanks to the support from the State Commission on OverseasVietnamese Affairs, the Embassy has organised the course, the first of its kindin the Netherlands to help Vietnamese expats learn their native language.

Hoa expressed herhope that the course will provide students with fundamental knowledge ofVietnamese language, history and culture.

Pham Van Dinh, arepresentative of the Vietnamese community in the Netherlands said familieswill work with the Embassy to teach their children Vietnamese.

The course will teach10 students aged between six and 16 in the 2017 – 2018 school year. It isexpected to help them read, write and communicate in Vietnamese language.

Embassy staff and Vietnamesestudents in the Netherlands will take part in the course.-VNA
