Vietnamese, Japanese students join exchange in Tokyo
The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan held an exchange event called "Teenage Ambassadors 2023” for Vietnamese and Japanese high school students on November 14.

Tokyo (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan heldan exchange event called "Teenage Ambassadors 2023” for Vietnamese andJapanese high school students on November 14.
The annual eventwas sponsored by the AEON 1% Club Foundation, a member of Japan’s AEON Group, aspart of the activities for the two countries’ young people to interact with eachother from November 13-19 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties, with 50 Vietnamese and 50 Japanese students takingpart.
President ofthe foundation Yoshiki Mori said the event aims to promote friendship between the countries, providing a platform for Japanese youths and their friends fromother nations to interact directly and improve mutual understanding about eachother’s culture and history.
Vu Thi LienHuong in charge of the embassy’s education section answered questionsrelated to preparations to become diplomats in the future, keys to excellingin foreign languages, and how to apply language skills in diplomatic work.
Apart from watchinga video on the 50-year history of Vietnam-Japan relations, studentssang the song "Friendship” in both Vietnamese and Japanese, and enjoyedcultural performances and typical Vietnamese dishes together.
On the followingdays, students will join a series of activities such as visiting the NationalDiet building, the Prime Minister's Office, the University of Tokyo, and famouslandmarks, and experiencing the traditional Japanese culture./.
Vietnam always considers Japan as a long-term and leading important partner, said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu while meeting a visiting delegation of the Japan-Vietnam parliamentary friendship alliance of Kobe city, Japan’s Hyogo prefecture, in Hanoi on November 7.
A delegation of Hanoi led by Standing Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen visited Fukuoka prefecture, and attended activities marking 15 years of the two localities’ friendship within the framework of its working trip to Japan from November 10-12.
Nearly 300 athletes from Vietnamese localities and clubs and Japan competed at a Judo tournament celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties, and the 2023 Open Judo Championship Ba Ria-Vung Tau in the southern province from November 9-11.
Eight teams will join the tournament, divided into two groups. Group A features Vietnam, the Philippines, Sichuan Club (China), and Australia, while Group B consists of Vietnam U21, Korabelka Club (Russia), Taiwan (China), and U21 Thailand.
Despite strong home support and high expectations, Vietnam were unable to overcome the defending champions, who secured their third consecutive win over Vietnam in a regional final, following previous victories in 2014 and 2023.
The event, part of Vietnam’s cultural diplomacy strategy through 2030, was jointly organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela and USM’s Faculty of International Relations. It attracted thousands of students from universities across Venezuela.
For the first time, Vietnamese audiences will have the opportunity to experience the ballet masterpiece "Don Quixote" in its original version by renowned choreographer Marius Petipa.

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
Vietnam continues to sit just behind continental powerhouses Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, China, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
The event served as a vibrant display of solidarity, promoting peace, cooperation, and development through cultural dialogue, and reaffirmed HCM City's role as a dynamic hub for cultural diplomacy and international friendship.
