Hailing the pastactivities of its executive board, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos NguyenManh Hung suggested the general association publicise all its activitiesamong Vietnamese expatriates.
The ambassadoralso noted that Vietnamese Embassy in Laos and the Lao Ministry ofEducation and Sports were tasked to select 27 Vietnamese expatriates tosend back to Vietnam for studying, as well as develop Nguyen Du highschool into a bilingual Vietnamese-Lao institution in Vientiane.
Acting President of General VietnameseAssociation Nguyen Duy Trung said his association is actively gearing upfor its second congress and encouraging nationwide chapters to getinvolved major festivals of the two countries.
Trung also briefed on main activities that the general association hascarried out after 5 months of inauguration including gift presentationsfor poor people and supporting Vietnamese students studying in thecountry.
The general association also plans toincrease the number of members working in education, culture, andsociety to further improve the association’s operational efficiency,added Trung.-VNA
