Representatives from the Vietnamese communities in 14 Europeancountries were brought together at a seminar in Prague , the CzechRepublic , on August 18, to discuss mass mobilisation work.
They were joined by Ha Thi Khiet, Party Central Committee Secretaryand head of the Party Commission for Mass Mobilisation and herdelegation who are currently in a working visit to the country.
Khiet affirmed that the Overseas Vietnamese in Europe have madesignificant contributions to the homeland’s modernisation andindustrialisation.
There are successful Vietnamesebusinesses in the host European countries which have invested back inthe homeland, she said, adding that they accounted for more than half ofthe total investment by Vietnamese expatriates at home.
Khiet spoke of the Czech government’s recognition of the Vietnamese community as a minority group last year.
She hailed the participants’ ideas of reforming operations of the MassMobilisation Commission to further improve the relations between theParty and people.
On the occasion, Khiet presentedthe third-class Labour Medal to Chairman of the Vietnamese peopleassociation in the Czech Repiblic Hoang Dinh Thang in recognition of hisactive participation in social affairs in the host country, helpinglocals understand more about Vietnam .
Earlier onAugust 16-17, Khiet had working sessions with representatives ofOverseas Vietnamese in Brno city and South Morava .
