Vietnamese food, beverages make waves at int’l fair in US

New York (VNA) – Vietnamese food and beverages’ excellent quality and ability to meet green consumption impressed US partners at the 2024 Private Label Trade Show held by the US Private Label Manufactures’ Association in Chicago on November 17-19.
Twenty-one exhibitors from Vietnam showcased their processed food, traditional seasoning, high-quality agricultural, and standout beverages in an area of 200 square metres.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Vietnamese booths, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency Hoang Minh Chien spotlighted the achievements that the Vietnamese food and beverage sector has obtained over the recent past, with exports to the US worth nearly 1.5 billion USD in January – October, up 18.3% year-on-year.
He said the show provided Vietnamese firms with a strategic opportunity to establish sustainable partnership in this potential market.
The US market is undergoing a strong shift towards sustainable and eco-friendly products, with growing preference for natural, organic, and environmentally-friendly goods. This trend presents a significant opportunity for Vietnamese products such as coffee, natural spices, dried fruits, and herbal beverages.
With a view to meeting stringent quality and safety standards of the market, Vietnamese firms have adopted international production practices such as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), and compliance with Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations. The move helps Vietnam improve its competitive edge while improving international partners’ confidence in Vietnamese products.
Trade promotion activities at the event were expected to increase export revenue and reinforce Vietnam’s reputation as a reliable supplier of high-quality and sustainable goods in the global market.
