HCMCity (VNA) – Some 30 Vietnamese enterprises will introduce Vietnam’snatural and organic products, including dried fruits, rice, processed coconut,and milk, at the upcoming Thaifex - World of Food Asia.
The Thaifex is an international trade fair and conferencefor food, beverage, catering, food technology, hospitality service and retailand franchise in Bangkok, Thailand from May 29-June 2, according to theBusiness Association of High Quality VietnameseProducts.
Vu Kim Hanh, Chairwoman of the association, said theevent will offer a good change for Vietnamese enterprises to promote theirproducts and technologies, seek partners and update the latest information on consumptionand market trends related to the food industry in the world.
The Vietnamese businesses will also exhibit products bearing geographical indications such as Phu Quoc fish sauce, Binh Thuan dragonfruit, Quang tri pepper and, Binh Phuc cashew nut.
The event will include a trade connection programme in the form of business-to-businessmatching (B2B Matching), which is expected to promote connection between Vietnameseenterprises and international firms.
A three-day cooking show programme will be hosted by the Vietnamese delegation,displaying over 10 Vietnamese dishes, which use signature ingredients fromlocalities nationwide.
The association will arrange an international workshop whichis expected to discuss the overview of ASEAN market and potential forintra-block trade cooperation, development and commercialization of geographicindication products; as well as initiates to improve the quality of Vietnamesefarm produce and food and ways to help Vietnamese foods enter internationalmarkets.
Thaifex 2018, jointly hosted by the Department ofInternational Trade Promotion and the Thai Chamber of Commerce, is expectedto attract about 60,000 visitors worldwide and about 2,500 food exhibitors from40 countries and regions over the world.
