Vietnamese, European documentary films to be screened

Vietnam will participate in the 7th Vietnamese-European Documentary Film Festival with 10 entered films, announced the Vietnam Central Scientific and Documentary Film Studio on June 3.

EightEuropean countries, namely Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Poland,Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Israel will also attend the festival.

Vietnamese documentaries screened at the event touch upon socialissues relating to war memories, culture in daily life, farming life andpoverty reduction in Vietnam.

Audiences will have a chance to enjoy one Vietnamese and one European documentary film each evening.
A special film series will also screen contributions from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand.

The films will be screened free of charge in Hanoi from June 10-19 and in Ho Chi Minh City from June 11-20.-VNA

🌞 Vietnam re-elected to 2005 UNESCO Convention’s Intergovernmental Committee

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
