Vietnamese engineers make Fractional CO2 Laser surgical equipment

HCM City (VNA) – The Hi-Tech Business Incubator in Ho Chi MinhCity held a ceremony on December 18 to debut a surgical equipment usingFractional CO2 Laser – one of the most advanced technologies in skin treatment –designed and made by Vietnamese engineers.
The equipment is usedin clinical application for skin regeneration and scar removal.
According to the LaserScience and Technology Co., Ltd. (Lascitec), at present, the demand in the dermatologicalfield in Vietnam and regional countries remains huge. However, there is noVietnamese unit which can independently research and make physical systemsusing laser that meet standard parameters.
All machines of thiskind used in Vietnam are imported from the Republic of Korea (RoK), China andWestern countries, the company said.
Huynh Thien Vuong, arepresentative from Lascitec, shared that the product is being piloted at theCentral Military Hospital 108 and several dermatological clinics in Ho Chi MinhCity and the southern province of Dong Nai. A product is priced at around15,000 USD, 30 percent lower than those of the same segment bought from theRoK.
Together with Vietnam,Lascitec intends to export its product to foreign markets such as Thailand,Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines.
At the ceremony, thecompany signed cooperation contracts with plastic surgery centres in Ho ChiMinh City, Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces to commercialise this kind ofproduct.-VNA
