Tel Aviv (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Israel has issued a formal advisory to members of the Vietnamese community residing, studying, and working there, underscoring a need to ensure safety as hostilities in the region intensify.

The alert follows a significant escalation in the Israel-Iran conflict, which entered a direct confrontation phase on June 13, after Israel launched pre-emptive air strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. In the ensuing days, hundreds of ballistic missiles and UAVs were launched from Iranian and Yemeni territory, targeting central and northern regions of Israel. Cities such as Tel Aviv and Haifa, along with northern localities, have sustained casualties and infrastructure damage despite Israel’s air defence systems intercepting the majority of the attacks. No Vietnamese nationals have been reported among the casualties.

The Vietnamese Embassy called on the Vietnamese community to comply strictly with local authorities’ safety regulations and guidance. They are encouraged to keep informed via Vietnamese community networks in Israel and to limit travel between cities during this volatile period. Individuals should seek to remain near designated shelters and prepare comprehensive contingency plans to safeguard themselves and their families.

The embassy stressed the importance of staying tune to alerts on official apps such as the Home Front Command, Tzofar, and Red Alerts, official portals of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defence, and credible local media outlets. Recommended precautions include ensuring access to shelters and keeping essential supplies – like torches, drinking water, non-perishable food, medical provisions, communication devices, and backup power – readily available.

The embassy encouraged Vietnamese nationals to remain regularly informed of local developments and to be prepared to return to Vietnam or travel to a third country should local authorities permit. Information regarding the operational status of airports and land border crossings, including routes to Egypt and Jordan, can be found on the official website of the Israeli Airports Authority at: //www.iaa.gov.il/en/.

In view of the ongoing situation, the embassy is currently operating remotely in compliance with the directives of Israel’s Home Front Command. It remains available to provide consular guidance and assistance, and can be reached through the following emergency contacts:
