Vietnamese, Czech-Moravia Communist Parties urged to step up ties

Hanoi (VNA) – President Tran Dai Quang suggested the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and theꦫ Communist Party of the Czech Republic and Moravia (KSCM) enhance th🎐eir political ties through regular exchange of delegations and timely coordination, thus contributing to promoting the relations between the two countries.
Vietnam appreciates achievements the KSCM has recorded over the years, the President said at a reception for KSCM Chairman Vojtech Filip, who is also Vice Chairman of the Czech Parliament's Chamber of Deputies ( lower house ), in Hanoi on October 31.
He thanked the KSCM and the Chairman in particular for their support to the CPV, as well as the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic.
President Quang lauded Vojtech Filip, in his capacity as Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies, for his efforts in boosting legislative cooperation between the two countries.
Many delegations of the Vietnam National Assembly (NA) visited the Czech Republic to exchange experience in law-making and supervision activities with their Czech Parliament, he said, noting that the close and effective legislative ties will significantly contribute to strengthening two countries’ relations across fields.
The President called on the Czech Parliament to continue supporting and forging the partnership and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and the EU, helping the two sides reach a free trade agreement at an early date and encouraging the EU to recognise Vietnam’s market economy status.
Vietnam is willing to assist the Czech Republic to enhance its relations with ASEAN and the group’s member countries, he promised.
The host noted with joy the fruitful development of the two countries’ political and diplomatic links, as evidenced through regular exchanges of all-level delegations an their close and effective coordination at regional and international forums.
However, the two-way trade has yet to match their potential and desire, he said, suggesting the two sides expanding their affiliation in economy, trade and investment.
Echoing President Quang’s view, KSCM Chairman Vojtech Filip said Vietnam and the Czech Republic have not fully tapped their potential and strength for cooperation, especially in economy, trade and investment.
Many Czech businesses have expressed their wish to study cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese partners in training pilots and producing vehicles, along with win and solar power projects, he said.
Vojtech Filip is in Vietnam to attend the 18th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties which took place in Hanoi from October 28-29.
