Hanoi (VNA) – The diverse cultural identity of Vietnam took centre stage at t♓he “Vietnam – Land and People” space during the 2025 International Student Festival held at Santa María University (USM) in Caracas, Venezuela.

The event, part of Vietnam’s cultural diplomacy strategy through 2030, was jointly organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela and USM’s Faculty of International Relations. It attracted thousands of students from universities across Venezuela. Speaking at the opening ceremony, USM Vice Rector Professor Antonina D’Amico said the event not only enriches the festival but also helps local students to learn more about Vietnam - a country with a strong resilience in past, and a dynamic growth at present towards a bright future.
At the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Venezuela Vu Trung My introduced visitors about Vietnam’s heroic history, unique culture, and people. He thanked Venezuelan students for helping create a vivid Vietnamese cultural space, featuring symbols like bamboo, Ao dai (Vietnamese traditional dress), conical hats, water puppetry, and the Temple of Literature.
Valentina Gonzáles, an international relations student, expressed her pride in contributing to the space. To Gonzáles and many young Venezuelans, Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh symbolise freedom, resilience, and cultural pride, she said. She also expressed her hope for a Vietnam visit in near future to experience its culture firsthand. The event included engaging activities and exhibitions on Vietnamese history, foreign policy, development achievements, and traditional cuisine, drawing enthusiastic participation and helping create a vivid picture of modern Vietnam./.
