London (VNA) - Aprogramme to popularise the Vietnamese culture was held in Birmingham on April 23 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment ofdiplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United Kingdom.
The event attracted 150 students from Vietnam and othercountries, as well as Vietnamese living in the locality.
🎀 Held as part of theVietnam Days in the UK 2023 which is taking place from March 28 to April 27, it included arange of activities, including a photo exhibition on Vietnam-UK relations, artperformances, folk games, and "Ao dai" (Vietnamese traditional longdress) show.
Pham Van Nam, head of theorganising board of the programme, said the event contributes to promotingthe relationship and solidarity between the two countries. It also aims tocreate a playground for Vietnamese students studying atuniversities in the central UK, as well as enhance the connection in theVietnamese community. According to VietnameseAmbassador to the UK Nguyen Hoang Long, as part of the Vietnam Days in the UK 2023, many more activities are planned in the city in April such as a meetingbetween the Vietnamese Ambassador and the Mayor of Birmingham and a seminar ontrade between the two countries./.
The Vietnam Days in the UK 2022 began on March 28 (local time), promising to treat attendees to a series of cultural, art, sport and trade-investment promotion events, mostly in London.
A seminar on new areas for trade and business cooperation, especially in energy, climate change adaptation, green transformation and finance, education, healthcare, technology, and infrastructure, between Vietnam and the UK was held by the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK in collaboration with British Expertise International (BEI) on April 18.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach.
