Da Nang (VNA) –The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Da NangUniversity on August 18 co-organised an exchange programme for Vietnamese andChinese young people.

Speaking at the event,Director of the Da Nang University Nguyen Ngoc Vu highlighted the importantrole by the university in personnel training and scientific research to serve socio-economicdevelopment in the central and Central Highlands regions and the nation atlarge.

The university is strivingto become one of the prestigious educational institutions in Vietnam, and gaina high rank in the regional and global educational system, he said.

Shi Xinming, deputy head of the School Departmentof the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC), expressed his impression on thedynamism and creativity of students of the Da Nang University.

The officialnoted his hope for more exchanges and cooperation activities between youthunions of Vietnamese and Chinese cities and provinces.

Theparticipants enjoyed special art performances and shared experience in youthunion work, volunteer campaigns and scientific research.

The Chinesedelegation paid a courtesy visit to the municipal leaders and toured a numberof landscapes in Da Nang and its neighbouring province of Quang Nam.-VNA
