Vietnamese, Chinese armies boost political cooperation

Beijing (VNA) – Sen. Lieut.Gen. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA)’s General Department ofPolitics held talks on December 3 with Lieut. Gen. Liu Dewei, Vice Chairmanof the Department of PoliticalWork under China's Central MilitaryCommission (CMC).
The talks formed part of activities of Nghia’s working visit to China fromDecember 2-7.
During the talks, Liu appreciated the visit, saying that it will contribute to strengtheningthe traditional friendship between the two countries’ armies and people, thus furtherstepping up the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategiccooperative partnership.
For his part, Nghia highlighted the stable and fruitful development ofbilateral relations, adding that the two sides’ leaders have always createdfavourable conditions for the armies to boost cooperation.
The two countries have been active in implementing the joint visiondeclaration on defence cooperation by 2025 between their defence ministries, Nghia said, adding that thecooperation in Party and political work has significantly contributed to therelations between the two parties, states, and armies.
The two sidesshared experience and discussed solutions for promoting political and ideologicaleducation in the army in order to contribute to building a strong army in termsof politics and ideology.
They also proposed orientations to expand cooperation between theVPA’s General Department of Politics and the CMC’s Department of Political Work in the time to come.
On the same day’s morning, the Vietnamese delegation paid a courtesy visit to Sen.Lieut. Gen. Miao Hua, Chairman of the CMC’s Department ofPolitical Work. –VNA
The fifth Vietnam-China border defence friendship exchange, which took place on November 19 and 20, has been a success, said Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh.
