Phnom Penh (VNA) – TheVietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) and the National Council of the Solidarity Frontfor the Development of Cambodian Motherland (SFDCM) have expressed resolve to successfullyorganise the third Front Presidium Conference of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia slatedfor July in Hanoi.

They were also determined to work together for the success of the sixth conferenceon building the Vietnam-Cambodia borderline of peace and friendship in Cambodiain July or August.

Vice President of the VFF CentralCommittee Truong Thi Ngoc Anh and Acting Secretary General of the SFDCM NationalCouncil Nhem Valy discussed preparations for the two events during a workingsession in Phnom Penh on April 4, which are concurrent with the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties this year.

They shared view that since acooperation programme between Vietnamese, Lao, Cambodian fronts was signed in2013 and a memorandum of understanding on building the Vietnam-Cambodiaborderline of peace and friendship was inked by VFF and SFDCM in 2014, mutualunderstanding and friendship among the three Indochinese countries and Vietnamand Cambodia in particular have been strengthened.

Both sides have regularly exchangedvisits by front delegations from the central to local level, especially inborder localities to learn from experience in raising locals’ awareness ofbuilding a borderline of peace and friendship, they said.

The Cambodian side promised tofurther discuss the agenda for the two events with Vietnam soon.

The first Front Presidium Conferenceof Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia was held in Cambodia in 2011 and the second inLaos in 2013.

Meanwhile, the first edition of theconference on building the Vietnam-Cambodia borderline of peace and friendship tookplace in Ho Chi Minh City in 2008.

The following editions were held inthe Cambodian province of Svay Rieng in 2009, the southern province of Tay Ninhin 2010, the Rattanakiri province of Cambodia in 2012 and the Mekong Deltaprovince of Kien Giang in 2014.-VNA
