The Asian Athletics Federation has included Vietnamese track and fieldrepresentatives in their list of top ten outstanding regional athletes.
In the women's high jump, Duong Thi Viet Anh, whowon a silver and bronze medal at the recent Asian Indoor AthleticsChampionships held in Hangzhou , China , ranked sixth with herachievement of 1.90m.
The Bac Lieu province-born jumper managed to clear 1.90m during last November's Indonesian Southeast Asian Games.
Fellow high jumper Pham Thi Diem was placed ninth with 1.87m.
Nguyen Thi Mong Tuyen, Le Ngoc Phuong, Truong Thanh Hang and Vu ThiHuong were placed fifth in the women's 4x100m with a time of 45 sec 01.
In the women's 800m, Hang ranked fifth with a timeof 2:01.41, which she set at the Asian Athletics Championships in Kobe, Japan , last year.-VNA
This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee.
