Washington DC (VNA) – VietnameseAmbassador to the US Pham Quang Vinh recently met Congressman Rick Larsen, aRepresentative for Washington's 2nd congressional district and a member of theHouse of Representatives’ Armed Services Committee.
At the meeting, Vinh lauded the support ofthe US Congress for the two countries’ relations.
He briefed the host on Vietnam’ssocio-economic situation and the recent official visit to the US made by PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
Congressman Larsen expressed his delight atthe rapid development of the US-Vietnam comprehensive partnership, affirmingthat he treasures the relationship between his country and the Asia-Pacificregion.
He also said that he pays attention to theAsia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum and the APEC Year 2017 inVietnam, and believes Vietnam will successfully fulfil its role as host andcoordinator of APEC 2017, contributing to boosting multifaceted cooperation inthe region.
Both host and guest agreed that relationsbetween Vietnam and Washington State have grown well in recent years, reflectedthrough successful and effectiven economic and trade cooperation between thetwo sides.-VNA

The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
