Vietnam wins bronze medal at world skills contest

Hanoi (VNA) – Tran Nguyen Ba Phuocgrabbed a bronze medal for the Vietnamese team at the 44th WorldSkills Competition 2017 in IT Software Solutionsfor Business.

The Vietnamese team also camehome with five Medallionsof Excellence in several skills, including mechanical engineering design – CAD, programming, bricklaying, electrical installations, programming,and cooking.

The 44th WorldSkills Competition took place inAbu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates from October 8 to 20 featuring 1,250competitors from 58 countries and territories worldwide, including 13Vietnamese ones.

They competed in 51 occupations, including 49official occupations and two performance skills during the event. TheVietnamese team participated in 12occupations, including CNC milling, programming, IT Software Solutions forBusiness, mechanical engineeringdesign – CAD, bricklaying, electrical installations, and cooking.

This is the fifth time Vietnam has participatedin the competition. The country also earned a bronze medal and eight medallionsof excellence at the 43rd WSC in 2015.-VNA
