The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and the Embassy of Venezuela inVietnam on July 4 co-hosted a photo exhibition in Hanoi to highlightthe brotherhood between Vietnam and Venezuela .
The exhibition, themed “Vietnam-Venezuela: Forever Brothers” is tocelebrate the 202nd National Day of the Bolivarian Republic ofVenezuela (July 5, 1811-2013).
On display arenearly 100 photos vividly and comprehensively depicting the traditionalfriendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Venezuela inpolitics, economics and culture, thus introducing to the audience thepartnership and fraternal bond between the two countries.
In his opening speech, VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi said thatdespite their geographical distance, Vietnam and Venezuela areclose at heart.
He said the two peoples share aclose friendship thanks to similarities in history, politics andculture. Friendship and solidarity between the two nations sparked whenVietnam was in its fight for national independence and unification.
A question raised for both countries during theirsocio-economic development now is how to utilise Vietnam-Venezuelarelations and further enhance their friendly cooperation with the aim toimprove the lives of local people, while defending peace and therevolutionary achievements both nations share, he stressed.
The relationship between the VNA and the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN)has gone from strength to strength since the two sides signed aCooperation Agreement, he added.
VenezuelanAmbassador to Vietnam Jorge Rondon Uzcategui said Vietnam andVenezuela have rapidly developed their relations in various fieldssince they set up their diplomatic ties in 1989.
Theevent, which showcases images of meetings among leaders of bothcountries, aims to create a new momentum for Vietnam and Venezuelato make their ties more practical and effective and become stronger forthe prosperity of both peoples, he said.
Visitorsto the exhibition will have a chance to enjoy images of the nation,people, famous sites and the unique culture of Venezuela, a beautifulcountry beside the Caribbean Sea.
The event is apractical activity to further foster the friendship, comprehensivecooperation and mutual trust between the two fraternal countries.
